War for Total Control: Planning the Ultimate ‘Big Brother’ Surveillance Society

War for Total Control: Planning the Ultimate ‘Big Brother’ Surveillance Society

By ADRIAN SALBUCHI

It’s an old cliché to say that technology in itself is neither good nor bad, but that all depends on how you use it. In the case of Information and Communications Technologies, and their out-of-control problem child the Internet that has so revolutionised the world, today we seem to be at a key crossroads where all seems to hang on which path Mankind finally treads.
Like a sharp two-edged sword, the Internet and the very rapidly evolving technologies surrounding it, are poised to either usher in a new era of intellectual, cultural and spiritual enlightenment, material well-being and true cooperation amongst nations bent on resolving common global problems; or we may be about to fall into a black abyss of absolute totalitarian control; intellectual, physical and spiritual violence; and mass slavery on an unprecedented scale.
How to resolve this dilemma? We should certainly start by understanding three key issues: who really controls these technologies, what are their medium and long term objectives, why are they being used the way they are…

The Invisible Man

One of the greatest perils we face today is the difficulty in properly identifying and distinguishing friend from foe; it is increasingly difficult to understand who – even what – the enemy or adversary is which means that society’s key vulnerability stems from its incapacity to properly identify risk, peril and danger. If you cannot see a danger approaching, it will hit you by surprise as the look-out on the Titanic so painfully learned on that fateful night in April 1912.
A vital factor for the survival and prosperity of individuals, families, communities, organisations – even entire nations – lies in properly identifying friends and enemies (or at least adversaries). There is always an “enemy” out there who either wants to have what we own, or wants to place us in his or her service, or may have a myriad of reasons for wanting to somehow weaken or get rid of us, mostly because they want to take for free something that is ours. Some will say this is basic human nature; others that it’s the Darwinian imperative of the survival of the fittest; still others will complain that it’s man’s criminal egotism. Whatever your view, the truth is that in one way or another we all live immersed in “self-protection or defense mode” which begins every morning when we close and lock our front door.
What I mean to say is that self-protection or defense is easy when you can clearly identify and understand your enemy: whether thieves at large on our streets, or foreign powers bent on subduing or colonising us. Here is where modern European languages play us a bad trick, because we use the word “enemy” with far too wide a scope. In fact, we would do well to heed the recommendations of German Jurist Carl Schmitt (1888-1985) who, like the Romans, differentiated between Inimicus (i.e., your own personal enemy whom you might hate for having done you some wrong but who is your own private affair and problem) and Hostis (i.e., a public enemy of the community and State, whom we might not necessarily dislike but who poses a threat to all and must thus be combated).
For example, two hundred years ago, it was easy for the thirteen original colonies of North America to identify as its Hostis the British Crown in London, or for the South American Viceroyalties to identify as their Hostis the Spanish Court in Madrid. A common, visible, credible enemy makes strategic planning that much simpler, for we know who he is, where he is, what he wants, and how he achieves his objectives.
Today’s challenge, however, is far greater because Hostis – the common enemy  is no longer easy to identify. We can no longer simply say “it’s the Brit’s over in London” or “it’s the Reds” or “the Nazis” or “the Japs.” Today, Mankind’s Hostis has become all too complex, often subtle and defying simple identification whether by nation, creed, race, geography, language, or any other easy-to-perceive characteristics. Today’s Hostis is everywhere and nowhere; which requires we refine our search, identifying him more by his tell-tale signs, fingerprints, “DNA” so-to-speak, than by directly perceiving him (or her).
No longer can national leaders rally mass popular support to “fight the Soviets or the Germans, or the Japanese.” A decade ago, they had to resort to weaker abstractions like the Bushian “war on terrorism,” which is meaningless until you actually define what “terrorism” is.1
What we have today is basically a public invisible enemy that is very difficult to specifically pinpoint, but the effects of whose actions we all increasingly suffer everywhere. Perhaps “Global Power Elite” is the closest we can come to describing this veritable global enemy whose planetary interests and objectives for the most part run counter to the common interests of “We the People” everywhere, and yet that too is still quite abstract and faceless.
Nevertheless, and like all “invisible men,” whilst we cannot “see” the enemy we can certainly feel the effects of his actions and can thus certainly learn to trace his tracks, infer where he is now, where he’s going and what he plans to do.
In this world war, all aware citizens need to become hunters of sorts: fighting the Global Power Elite is much like tracking down a dangerous wild tiger in the forest… An experienced, shrewd and watchful hunter does not need to actually see the tiger to know that he’s close by, if he knows how to identify and understand specific tell-tale ‘tiger marks’: here, some broken twigs on a forest path; there, a dead rodent; perhaps tiger droppings by a tree or paw marks on damp soil; a specific scent, or hushed growling echoing in the distance…
A similar task faces us if we are to become free and independent: we must learn and understand who, where and what is the enemy and its weapons of war. We can certainly say that technological research, development and control are among its array of armaments. If we understand the enemy, it should not be all that hard to understand what he will do with the technology so “generously” given to Mankind.

Putting on the Chains of Slavery

A century ago, Soviet revolutionary Vladimir Lenin said capitalists would one day sell to the communists the very ropes with which communism would hang them. Well, not quite actually as it ended up being the other way around with communists hanging themselves with the invisible “ropes of capitalism,” enthralled as they became at the end of the Bi-Polar world with the West’s mass consumerism. An eloquent snapshot of which right after the Berlin Wall fell in 1989 was a little ticky-tacky East German “Trabant” next to a powerful West German Mercedes-Benz. Indeed, a picture that was worth 1,000 words!
22 years later, something similar seems to be happening; only this time it’s the Global Power Elite enthralling us with invisible technological ropes with which millions of people are about to hang themselves, in a figurative sense, of course. Not that all of us are doing that yet, but when you look around at the growing mass population control, the noose is certainly being fitted snugly around our necks.
Humans needs time to adapt and cope with major changes. Through tens of thousands of years of history, change took place very slowly, spanning entire generations so that with each new change, social structures slowly adapted. Today, however, with the explosive advent of information technologies, telecommunications and genetics to name but a few, we’re all mesmerised and desirous to become part of the Info Cybersphere. We’ve been persuaded that we really do need to have the latest cell phones, iPod, iPad, the Internet and cable/satellite TV, iPhone and Blackberry, which potentially is a good thing, but they must be approached with discriminating caution. For they represent a two-edged sword that can either help expand our consciousness and awareness of the world around us in every sense of the word, or they can chain us unwittingly into a macro-system that has grown into a Leviathan with huge capacity to control every detail of our lives.
I am a layman so I won’t delve into the technicalities of today’s information technologies because others are far more qualified to do that, but I can tell you this: all these technologies are not as innocent as they would have us believe: i.e., so “innocent” that 5, 6 or 7 year olds can be set loose to play with video games and the Internet as if they were mere toys. Not so! These technologies must be approached with at least as much caution, prevention and awe as we do when we drive our car, knowing that just as it can safely take as wherever we want to go, if we thoughtlessly rev the engine up to 250 kmph, it can also get us and others killed.
Similarly, this two-edged sword can serve to vanquish the Global Power Elite by making us aware of their intentions and their terrible medium and long-term consequences, or it can serve them to cut our throats. In fact, this Janus-headed monster lies equidistant between them and us. Objectively, either they win and we lose, which means the world will be run by machines that they control or, we use these technologies to rally the overwhelming power of We the People, to annihilate the Global Power Elite. Where does the difference lie? In our awareness.
The Global Power Elite know full well what they are doing whilst most people don’t, and they will do everything in their power to keep it that way. Here, then, are two global armies pitted against each other. “In this corner…” a tiny but extremely powerful elite controlling a huge machine to their benefit and our enslavement. “In that corner…”, gigantic masses of mostly unaware people using that same machine but without understanding it, nor realising what it’s really being used for.
It is today so embedded into society that, increasingly, every aspect of our lives are controlled by it: whether it be work done on the Internet, Intranets, E-Trade, managing your bank account, reserving your next flight and printing your boarding pass, doing research and fact-finding, or just plain entertainment and whiling the time away. It’s a coin of which we are systematically shown only the “heads” side, i.e., all the benefits, magic, comfort and advantages of being hooked-in and on-line. “Life is so much easier now…” However, we’re not shown the “tail” side that poses a dark and lurking danger: Total Control. The Info Cybersphere represents a super-structure for total control against which individuals can do little to escape from, unless awareness dawns on them.
The key weapon wielded against all peoples in every country is PsyWar – Psychological Warfare – that has successfully: (a) incorporated two, maybe three billion people into the IT Cybersphere allowing growing partial/total control over them, and (b) persuaded billions of people to willingly accept this. The rest of Mankind – the other 3 or 4 billion are “useless eaters” as David Rockefeller once called them – just don’t count because they’re too abjectly poor and are not part of any “market”; there’s literally nothing the Corporate Overworld can sell to them. Thus, they are implicitly earmarked for controlled extermination over the next generation through war, disease, starvation, urban violence, environmental contamination, artificially induced “natural” disasters, or by just plain letting them waste away.
A quick look at some of the technological wonders they have in store for us might better illustrate this:

Watch What You Say… and Do… (and Think..!)

“Romas/COIN” is a super hi-tech military civilian mass surveillance and data gathering project supported by US private defense contractors (Northrop Gruman, notably), think tanks, and the US military and civilian intelligence community, with electronic capabilities to monitor and analyse millions and millions of conversations, sort key data and then re-build it to reflect specific behaviour patterns amongst individuals and groups of people, which enables projecting their future plans, whereabouts, goals and actions. This will make “preventive war” and “preventive arrests” that much easier. For now, much of this mass surveillance and data mining targets Arab speaking peoples, not just in the Middle East/North Africa but the world over, which ties in nicely with the endless “global war on terrorism.”
This represents a quantum leap by the Global Power Elite in that until recently such global hi-tech spying was only done by the National Security Agency, CIA, FBI, MI6 or Mossad (which can always be demonised as modern Gestapo-like entities); now however, we have “friendly” household names like Apple, Google, Facebook, Twitter, Microsoft, Pixar/Disney, PointAbout, doing all the spying for the Elite. This private corporate network is part of the invisible noose we are putting around our necks.

Big Brother is Watching You…

Countries one normally believes are bastions of liberty and freedom – the UK, Canada, Australia or New Zealand – are prime examples of mass surveillance. Take a stroll through London and a vast and ubiquitous network of several million CCTV cameras will be watching your every move 24/7 in airports, underground and railway stations, street crossings, stores, bus stops, shopping malls, motorways, parks, bridges, condos, public buildings, private offices, utilities, public toilets, toll booths… Wherever you are in London, someone is watching you… very closely. Naturally, all this is done in the name of “national security” which has become a smokescreen for the political and corporate elites’ perception that growing public awareness does pose a real threat to their interests.
In Australia Big Brother is hard at work, not surprising since Australia responded to September 11 with extraordinary law-making. In the ensuing decade, Australia’s Federal Parliament enacted 54 pieces of anti-terrorism legislation; 48 of which were passed under the Howard government, an average of one new anti-terrorism law every seven weeks.
The numbers are striking: Canadian Professor Kent Roach found that “Australia has exceeded the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada in the sheer number of new anti-terrorism laws it has enacted since September 11, 2001. Australia’s hyper-legislation strained the ability of the parliamentary opposition and civil society to keep up, let alone provide effective opposition to, the relentless legislative output.” All brought to you by the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO).
Australia’s legislation includes the Telecommunications Interception and Intelligence Services Legislation Amendment Act, and the Intelligence Services Legislation Amendment Bill 2011 that strengthens and increases ASIO’s powers to conduct offshore surveillance and reach such organisations as WikiLeaks, targeting anyone campaigning on political and social issues.

“We know who you are…”

New technologies may also soon make fingerprints a thing of the past. Vein recognition represents a far more precise method to identify you than traditional fingerprint scanners because of its low .001% false acceptance rate. Using light to penetrate a users’ finger to read vein patterns which are unique and thought to be impossible to replicate, this method is fully fool proof as vein structures change after death, which means severed fingers cannot be used to fool the readers.
Then there’s face recognition where Toshiba recently unveiled a new range of LED-backlit televisions for 2011 including the model WL800A that uses facial recognition. Next time you’re surfing the Internet or speaking on Skype, hmmm… “we know who you are, where you are and what you’re doing…”

Lost & Found: “M’am: We found your missing husband’s black box…”

Microchip Implants for personal tracking and ID are getting smaller and smaller, and ever more injectable without you ever even realising it. Next time an Avian or Swine Flu “crisis” breaks, don’t let yourself be coaxed into mass vaccinating your family. Michael G Michael (University of Wollongong’s School of Information Systems and Technology, Australia), has coined the term “uberveillance” to describe the emerging trend of all-encompassing surveillance, explaining that “Uberveillance is not on the outside looking down, but on the inside looking out through a microchip that is embedded in our bodies.”
The US’s private hi-tech company VeriChip (www.positiveidcorp.com) widely markets implantable nano-chips which store a 16-digit unique ID number on humans “for medical and security purposes, focusing on high-risk patients and the need to identify them and their medical records in an emergency.” To allay any fears they also explain they do not know when or if someone will develop an implantable microchip with GPS technology, but that “it is not an application we are pursuing.” Michael explains that such implantable chips will become like a “black box that will then be a witness to our actual movements, words – perhaps even our thoughts – and play a similar role to the black box placed in an aircraft.” He also predicts microchip implants and their infrastructure could eliminate the need for e-passports, e-tags, and secure ID cards, adding that “microchipping… will eventually become compulsory in the context of identification within the frame of national security.” For now, your mobile phone acts as a passive transponder for radio frequency identification (RFID) readers.

Watch the Birdie…

Not surprisingly, military applications are where trillions of ultra hi-tech dollars are going. We now have drones as tiny as bugs. In a recent piece published in The New York Times2 we learn that the US military’s Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio runs a flight lab dubbed a “microaviary” where drones designed to replicate flight mechanics of moths, hawks and other creatures are being developed. “‘We’re looking at how you can hide in plain sight’ said Greg Parker, an Aerospace engineer, as he held up a mechanical hawk that in the future might carry out espionage.” Today, the Pentagon has some 7,000 aerial drones explained Ashton B Carter, the Pentagon’s chief weapons buyer and a member of the New York-based Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).
“In February 2011, researchers unveiled a hummingbird drone built by the firm AeroVironment for the secretive Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) which can fly at 11 mph and perch on a windowsill… one of the smallest drones in use on the battlefield is the three foot long Raven which troops in Afghanistan toss by hand like a model airplane to peer over the next hill.”
Then we have new “Gorgon Stare” technology that can capture live videos of an entire city, but requires 2,000 analysts to process the data feeds from a single drone compared with 19 analysts per drone today. We can also expect massive growth of armies of military surveillance analysts representing “wonderful new job careers in national defense.”

A Nation of Cowards

That same New York Times piece goes on to say, “within the military, no one disputes that drones save American lives. Many see them as advanced versions of ‘stand-off weapons systems’, like tanks or bombs dropped from aircraft, that the US has used for decades. ‘There’s a kind of nostalgia for the way wars used to be,’ said Deane-Peter Baker, an ethics professor at the US Naval Academy, referring to noble notions of knight-on-knight conflict. Drones are part of a post-heroic age, he said, and in his view, it is not always a problem if they lower the threshold for war… Military ethicists concede that drones can turn war into a video game, inflict civilian casualties and with no Americans directly at risk, and thus more easily draw the US into conflicts.”
This ties in with the Powell Doctrine, drafted by Gen. Colin Powell (CFR) after the First Gulf War which states, amongst other concepts, that the US should only engage in military conflict where its overwhelming military clout guarantees complete victory over carefully chosen weaker enemies. That explains why the US (and its staunch ally Britain) will unilaterally attack Afghanistan and Iraq, but not China or Russia; or why the US (and NATO) imposed “regime change” on Libya but not on North Korea (so intimate with China) or Iran (so close to Russia). This explains why America’s “heroic exploits” included invading tiny Grenada under the Reagan Administration in 1984, and unarmed Panama under Bush Senior in 1991, as well as its unflinching support of nuclear-armed-to-the-teeth Israel against rock-throwing Palestinians.
Clearly, a more overt “doctrine” of abject and shameless cowardice has yet to be advanced by any nation. There, no doubt, lie the seeds of America’s coming demise and that of its key allies: they have become greedy and corrupt nations governed by cowardly rulers.

What are You Going to Do?

Whatever happens from now on, Planet Earth depends on how large a portion of the two or three billion “lucky ones” who have voluntarily integrated themselves into the Cybersphere through PC’s, laptops, blackberries, websites, cell phones, etc., become aware of the grave dangers facing us all. How fast they begin taking defensive measures from inside the Cybersphere, especially by identifying and taking advantage of its myriad weak points.
As a friend once said, “if globalisation can be compared to a balloon, then you only need the microscopic point of a sharp pin to blow it up…” Each of us must become such a “microscopic pin.”
As I write, the surveillance and control infrastructure can read this article, plot my location from their satellites using the cell phone in my pocket as a GPS transponder, spy on what I read, write and navigate on my laptop, and God knows what more.
Since 20 years or so, the National Security Agency’s Echelon Project can spy on our phones and emails, targeting specific words used in billions upon billions of messages and texts – “bomb,” “attack,” “Islam,” “Muslim,” “nuclear,” “chemical,” and “biological” are just some of the words and sequences Echelon can snoop into (they’re probably doing this right now as I write and as you read!). Whatever it is they can do today surely exceeds our wildest imagination.
This is no longer just the “national intelligence infrastructure” spanning the CIA, FBI, FEMA, Homeland Security, DARPA, Army, Navy and Air Force Intelligence, and their counterparts in other countries. This now spans private corporations that gather data, organise it, seek and find specific patterns (behaviours, contacts, interests, intents, geographies and infinite others) through which they hope to eventually exert their long-sought dream of total control over populations forming part of their Global System (the rest are as good as dead).
Microsoft, Facebook, Google, and a vast array of intelligence, security, IT, data gathering companies are all linking into increasingly large networks that pool data, findings and capabilities into complex arrays of self-sustaining and evolving structures, that lie outside the visual scope even of governments, for the simple reason that governments cannot even begin to fathom those capabilities, powers and future projections.
Does anybody really believe that Barack Obama, David Cameron, the senators, representatives and MP’s of the US or UK governments have a real clue as to what the NSA, together with Google, together with Boeing, together with Northrop, together with Halliburton, together with Apple, together with Mossad, MI6 and CIA front companies, together with key universities and think tanks, together with…. are reallydeveloping?
Can Congress or Parliament enact more laws to “control” something they themselves cannot understand and, even if they were to enact limiting legislation, by then technology will have evolved even further, easily wiggling its way out of any such laws.

Who’s in Charge?

That brings us to the key question: who’s in charge? Who really runs Australia, Britain, France and Germany? Japan, India and Brazil? The US and Canada? Argentina and South Africa? Even Israel??
We see “elected leaders” accessing top government posts using 19th century “democratic” voting mechanisms, that are all controlled by a highly complex 21st century technocratic Over-world, embedded inside the US, UK, EU and most every other country. It operates from inside these countries – even using the military might of the US and NATO countries – but in no way does it heed, support or respond to the interests of these peoples. Was it really the US, Britain and France that invaded and destroyed Iraq, Afghanistan and now Libya? Or is it something far more elusive and powerful embedded inside them but controlled from way above today’s completely outdated, eroded, fatally weakened and – at this rate – soon to disappear “sovereign Nation-State”?
It’s high time we make the necessary quantum leaps that will allow us to start joining the dots. We need to move away from silo mentality paradigms, and towards a much more holistic Weltanschauung. We have become too “specialised,” which leads to narrow-mindedness. We talk about finance but never join the dots on its geopolitical overtones. We talk about politics but are blind to underlying social forces. We think Hollywood is only about “entertainment,” not realising how they implant ideas and behaviour patterns into our collective psyche.
Information and data overdrive generate confusion, as we become overwhelmed by trillions of bits of data that swamp our brains every day, hour, minute and second. A healthy tip: take your proper distance and perspective so that we all start to see the big picture. Only then can we move down to the finer detail, because the forest is far, far more important than the tree… at least in this stage where we all need to come to grips with a question that should be growing louder and louder in your mind no matter where you live or who you are: what on Earth is going on!?
We had better find the answers quickly because we are fast coming to a fork of world historic proportions on the road of human destiny. We either climb up the high road leading to human evolution which will necessarily entail the painful but necessary destruction of the Global Power Elite and all who support, consolidate, empower and fuel its growth, or… we slip down the low road into a dark abyss of death, destruction, mass hypnosis and the end of the human spirit; a vision pretty close to what men throughout the ages have described as Hell…
What road will you take? We can still make the right decision. There is not, however, much time left.

Footnotes

1. Arab countries fighting back against US-UK-EU intervention in the Middle East and North Africa are branded “terrorists” or “rogue states,” whilst the very cause of the problem – i.e., long decades of violent US-UK-EU and Israeli terror interference in Arab countries is never branded “terrorism” (in fact, they call it “promoting democracy” or some such Newspeak). Militarised groups are thus branded either “terrorist” or “freedom fighters” depending on which side they stand vis-à-vis the Global Power Elite.

The Miracle of Water: The Yin & the Yang

The Miracle of Water: The Yin & the Yang

By ALICK BARTHOLOMEW

We all have the experience of rejuvenation and joy on a vibrant spring day when the sap is rising in the plants and the tree buds are bursting with new life. Water is at the very heart of life creation. Sitting by a waterfall or on the rocks at the edge of the ocean on a sunny day, one can feel the energy of the water in our body. Water is closely linked to the emotions. There is a strong resonance of water with humans. Our ancestors were fascinated by its magic and there is a vast mythology linked to water.
Water carries all life. But water is beyond time, for it bears in its flow the seeds of future life, as well as the memory of past life. Water mediates between life and death, between being and not being, between health and sickness. We have lost touch with the magic of water, the freshness of the mountain spring, the reflection in a mountain lake, the mystery of the sacred well. We just take for granted that water will come at the turn of a tap.
We have allowed water to spread illness and disease. Much is spoken these days of the destructive nature of water. Such water is Nature on the rampage, perhaps showing who is boss, at a time when humanity has wrought so much reckless damage to Earth’s ecosystems and to the natural environment.
Our bodies are composed of about 70% water, a similar percentage to that of the ocean surface compared to land. Blood and sap are really variations of water. Earth is known as the planet of water; astronauts wondered at Earth’s blue, shimmering, watery aura seen from space. It seems as if water was intended for life; certainly life could not have come without it. Water is found throughout the Universe, though seldom as a liquid, which requires the relatively narrow temperature band which our Earth provides.
Without doubt water is the most important substance on Earth. It drives everything, from the most delicate metabolic processes in our bodies, to creating environments favourable to life, to weather patterns and climate change.
The poet, philosopher and scientist, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832) was, more than anyone, a bridge between pre-and post-Enlightenment thinking. He sensed a profound difference in outlook between the new rational, mechanistic and more exclusive worldview, and the more traditional inclusive, Nature-centred view. He called the latter ‘holistic’ science in contrast to ‘reductionist’ science. Goethe understood that all life is one, closely interconnected and interrelated, with water as the very symbol of holism, with its role in the sustenance of life.
Goethe referred to water as “the ground of all being.” Thales of Miletus (640-546 BCE) also believed water to be infused with Being, believing it was the original substance of the Cosmos. The Austrian ‘Water Wizard’, Viktor Schauberger (1885-1958), held a similar view, saying that water is the product of the subtle energies that brought the Earth into being and is itself a living substance.

Sacred Knowledge

Until quite modern times, water was generally regarded as sacred. This precious substance used to require a great deal of effort to collect for domestic use (and still does in some parts of the world). It was treated with reverence and believed to be protected by divine beings.
One of the principal cultural ceremonies of the Pacific Northwest indigenous tribes in British Columbia was the ‘potlatch’, believed to have been practised for thousands of years. Usually a part of this complex ceremony was given to the recitation of the spiritual traditions of the tribe. The ‘speaker’, a position often handed down in one of the chief families, performed this important role.
The training of future speakers was a long-observed ritual, involving teaching the young person to listen to the wind from mountaintops, to the sound of the ocean waves on the rocky shore, and to the music of the rushing stream. They would in this way learn to incorporate Nature’s sounds and cadences in the telling of the stories of the tribe’s wisdom. To these people, water was a sacred medium of communication and they felt its sounds should be the vehicle for teaching their traditions.
How water informs language is hinted by many of the ancient scripts which employ flowing lines like water in their characters (for instance Hebrew). Greek became more regular, but it was Latin with its angular, straight characters that forgot the memory of water. Latin script initiated the estrangement from Nature, forming the basis for Euclidean geometry with its circle, straight line and point which are not to be found in Nature.
There are esoteric uses for water. Nostradamus used a bowl of water as a skrying tool for seeing future events. Viktor Schauberger had a remarkable experience while sitting by a rushing stream in his pristine Alpine refuge. Listening to its vivacious music, he intuited how water needs to move and behave in order to stay healthy, which was to inform his ground breaking research.
Our attitude toward water has changed enormously in recent centuries. With the advent of rationalism and the denial of spiritual influences on humanity came the great explosion of technology that loudly proclaimed human supremacy over Nature. Since we decided we were not part of Nature and we devised our own self-centred laws, we have lost touch with the magic of water. We have forgotten its true nature and the meaning of its pulsating movements.
Our biology and physics textbooks tell us that water is merely an inorganic compound through which various chemical processes take place. One of the reasons why mainstream science knows so little about water may be its obsession with the physical nature of life. Older cultures did not suffer from this limited worldview and consequently appreciated water’s special qualities better than we do today.

Holism

The key to understanding water and living more in tune with our environment is to learn to see and feel holistically as part of a community of beings – human, animal, microbial, and botanical – united by a common bond of water. It is through the medium of water that we all share a common heritage – we are all One.
Ancient mystical systems, especially Hindu, Taoist and Buddhist, held water in particular reverence and understood some of its quantum qualities, even if they did not describe them in the terms of quantum science. Neils Bohr and Robert Oppenheimer, pioneers of quantum physics, and more recently David Bohm, Einstein’s protégé, found remarkable similarities between their new worldview and the concept of the oneness of all creation held by those mystical systems.1
Water is the epitome of holism. It connects all of life; and life cannot exist without it. Spiritual and mystical experiences have a strong link with holism.
Dynamic water, when it is alive and energised, performs the roles of initiating and operating all the processes of life. The most important function of biological water is to facilitate rapid inter-communication between cells and connective tissues, so that the organism can function as a coordinated whole. Though not recognised by mainstream science, living water in fact performs this intercommunication function between all organisms, groups of organisms, populations, natural kingdoms and the world, creating a network of sensitivity throughout all of life, even between life on Earth and the Cosmos, so that nothing can happen without affecting other processes; all are linked together by water. In this way, it drives evolution.2
The story needs to be told simply of how water is the stage manager of life, communicating to our bodies’ cells how to be part of a vast orchestra; how it distributes energy to make the landscape balanced and productive. Indeed the very laws which govern the harmonious movement of the planets also determined the form and behaviour of our organic life, through water. This extraordinary picture of water’s part in the evolution of life derives from the discovery of the quantum field that interconnects all of creation in a vast web of energy. Rudolf Steiner and his interpreter Theodor Schwenk believed that the quantum field (also known as the etheric field) contains the encoded data bank of the information required for evolution to proceed.

Yin Yang Balance

Viktor Schauberger demonstrated how life, both at the maintenance level and in evolutionary processes depends on the subtle balancing between energy polarities, shown at its best in the unstable balancing between positive and negative polarities in water’s behaviour. These have not been well described in scientific writing, therefore a summary of their importance would seem desirable.
The Sun is our main source of energy. In Chinese tradition, it emits a positive, yang (masculine) energy. The Earth balances this with a yin, or feminine (negative) energy. Without this interplay, there would be no water, plants, nor chemical compounds. Yin and yang are dynamic in the sense that their energy fluctuates – when one expands, the other diminishes. The concentration of energy is a yin process, while that to move and disperse is yang. Western thought holds them as fixed states, but in the Chinese tradition they are constantly shifting. Thus, in every man there is feminine energy and in every woman there is masculine energy, these tendencies varying in different situations. It is the same in Nature. Mornings tend to have yang energy and evenings yin.3
As Fritjof Capra comments: “Chinese sages seem to have recognised the basic polarity that is characteristic of living systems. Self-assertion is achieved by displaying yang behaviour; by being demanding, aggressive, competitive, expanding, and – as far as human behaviour is concerned – by using linear, analytical political thinking. Integration is furthered by yin behaviour; by being responsive, cooperative, intuitive, and aware of one’s environment. Both yin and yang, integrative and self-assertive tendencies, are necessary for harmonious social and ecological relationships.”4
One can see that our society has favoured yang over yin – rational knowledge over intuitive wisdom, science over religion, competition over cooperation, and exploitation over conservation.
All processes depend on an unstable reciprocity between extremes. As soon as a process becomes stable, it stagnates. It’s the same with water. Moving, circulating water is energised; still water is effectively dead. Water is the ideal medium for processes because it is an unstable and dynamic medium and, and without water, nothing in Earth’s environment can change.
Nature is founded far more on cooperation than on competition, because it is only through harmonious interplay of energy that physical formation can occur and structures can be built up. At the heart of the creative process in Nature are negative and positive polarities, such as chaos and order, quantity and quality, gravitation and levitation, electricity and magnetism. (The last polarities Schauberger studied as complementary qualities.) In every case, for any natural process to be harmonious, one polarity cannot be present without the other, and each needs the other to make up the whole.
Natural law, as Viktor Schauberger describes, requires that, for creative evolution to be maintained, the polarities are not 50/50, which would result in atrophy, but are unevenly balanced towards the yin or negative. Water’s principal quality is to bring balance to life. For this reason, you would expect it to be very stable; in fact, the reverse is true. The water molecule is made up of two small positively charged hydrogen atoms and one very large negatively charged oxygen atom; the strong bifurcated hydrogen bonds are unsymmetrical, which make water unstable and unpredictable. This instability belongs not only to the aquatic sphere; it is the guiding law of the Universe since its inception. Instability and unpredictability are the secret of matter’s very existence, and the impulse for creativity. As we all know, predictability is the recipe for a boring existence. It is the restlessness of water that stimulates its pulsation and constant swinging between the yin and the yang.
The dance of creation is the harmonious interplay through attraction and repulsion of polarised atoms. The mutual attraction of 2x H and 1x O gives birth to the marvel of water. The catalytic role of dual polarity is initiated by the positive charge of the Sun, the inseminator of life, which melds with the Earth’s receptive and feminine energy. Together they are essential components for all biological processes.
We don’t normally think of water carrying an electric charge, but its bioelectrical sensitivity is one of the most important qualities in its importance for life. The electromagnetic qualities of mineral-rich or saline water allow it to steer processes and evolution by constantly shifting the energy reciprocally between positive and negative charges. Schauberger showed that a natural river flowing sinuously across the landscape recharges its energy towards the positive or yang on right-hand bend and towards the negative or yin on a left-hand bend. This constant accumulation of yin and yang charges raises the energy level of the water so that it can perform its true role in nurturing the landscape. The same happens with our biological water.
Through spiralising movement, water maintains its energy as ‘living water’. In its most dynamic state, water develops the structure of a vortex which raises its energy level – more quickly if the direction of the spin alternates between left and right (e.g. www.sulis-health.co.uk/water.html#eggvortex).
Because the quantum or etheric field is universal and water is common in the Universe, associated with life or potential life, it seems natural to view them as complementary, working together. In esoteric terms the etheric (sometimes called “the God field”) may be seen as the masculine (yang)initiating polarity; while the water medium has the receptive, feminine (yin) role. What I propose is that the water medium and the quantum field are two complementary aspects in the balanced mediation, sustenance and evolution of life. You might call this a candidate for the ‘Unified Field Theory’.
If we say that water builds the physical structures of living organisms, this begs the question of where are the templates? We believe they are held in the etheric or quantum field, often encoded in sacred geometry.5 For example the indispensable container for the emergence of new life is the egg shape, the only shape in which water can circulate spontaneously: the egg and similar shapes like the pine cone, or spiral structures such as seashells or leaf designs have a symmetry defined by phi (Φ) or ‘The Golden Section’. These symmetries have a yin/yang ratio which can be defined mathematically by the number 1:1.618033988, which seems always to be associated in Nature with the transmutation of energy into form.6

Communication

What is the scientific evidence for water as a communication medium? An exciting discovery in recent years has been the strange role that water plays in biological communication. It has come to light that collagen, the connective tissue that makes up the bulk of all multicellular animals, is crucial to the integrity of the organism. It is composed of a crystalline matrix of collagen proteins embedded in water, compromising 60-70% by weight. This water is specially structured in chains along the collagen fibres and has the ability to self-organise.
Dr. Mae-Wan Ho, co-founder of the Institute for Science in Society, and one of the most prominent holistic biophysicists, has specialised in the role of biological water. She believes that the collagen chains enable water to become superconductive, an ideal medium for instantaneous communication for coordination of all cellular activities. She believes that this liquid crystal continuum constitutes our “body consciousness” that may well have evolved before the nervous system, but which today works both in partnership with, and also independently of, the nervous system.
“This body consciousness is the basis of sentience, the prerequisite for conscious experience that involves the participation of the intercommunicating whole of the energy storage domain.”7
We hear increasingly of water being described as a “conscious organism.” It is an organism in the sense that it has integrity, independence, cohesion, and particular qualities that allow it to be the driver of life and evolution. The quality of consciousness may also seem a strange term to apply to water. But if it’s the medium of communication, it could also be the medium of consciousness. Viktor Schauberger and Theodor Schwenk demonstrated that the water medium also has intelligence. Water has the quality of restlessness which gives living systems the ability to become ever more complex and to strive forward toward perfection.
We use the term ‘intelligence’ in connection with water because it optimises the conditions for life by regulating environmental processes. At a temperature of 37°C (98.4°F), water requires a very large input or removal of kinetic energy in order for its temperature to rise, allowing it to keep the blood in the human body at a constant temperature of 37°C, any deviation from which indicates illness. Another of the intelligences of water is that it takes a lot of energy to freeze and, once frozen to melt; and a huge amount of energy to vaporise water which stops the air from excessive heating. This makes water a very effective balancer of climatic extremes. The warmer the air, the more water vapour it can hold, and the longer the temperature can remain constant.
The interaction of these three properties of water has created a temperate climate zone on Earth with optimum conditions for evolution of the human species. Certainly complex civilisations could not have evolved without the stability of moderate, stable climates. Without these self-regulating systems, life could never have developed beyond the simplest forms.8

Water’s Memory

Much has been written about water’s memory. Does it have a memory? Masaru Emoto studied the structure of ice crystals to determine the quality of their liquid water origin. He demonstrates how poor quality water cannot build good structures, while high quality water produces the most beautiful crystalline designs. Amazingly, water that has been exposed to harmonious music or exalted human energies can produce pure beautiful crystals, while when it is exposed to disruptive energies it cannot produce well structured crystals.
When water is flowing as its nature dictates, energetically in spirals and vortices, and continually changing its state, the molecules, if conditions permit, organise themselves into structures, layers or clusters of vibrating energy centres which carry constructive information, constantly receiving and transmitting energy from every contact the water body makes.
These clusters or layers can store vibrational energy impressions or imprints, rather like a magnetic tape. If these are beneficial, they may be able to restore healthy resonance in the human body, as in homoeopathy. On the other hand if there are the imprints of toxins or pollutants in the drinking water, they may be carriers of disharmony and disease.
Water does have a memory. When we think we have ‘purified’ water of the chemicals and hormones we have mindlessly thrown in, in order to make it drinkable, the energy of these contaminants remains, polluting our energy bodies in the same way that chemicals affect our physical bodies. Because of its nature, water sacrifices itself entirely to the environment, for good or for bad.
How can we experience water’s spiritual qualities? My water epiphany came spontaneously when I had the realisation that I am embedded in water. I saw water as the infinite continuum of life in which all living creatures are contained. This experience was much more powerful than the intellectual idea of being connected. “We are all one,” because of water.
I find being close to horses a bit scary. One day, the field where I walk regularly had three mares with their growing foals. I liked to take them apples as a treat, but when all six surrounded me, they felt a bit threatening. When I tried to visualise these lovely, powerful animals as part of my family through the water link, they seemed to become more like family and they were much less scary. This is what you might call a ‘holistic connection’. Try it yourself; it can even work with people!
In Eastern tradition, when you greet someone, you bow your head to them or palm your hands together in front of your heart in recognition of that person’s Divine nature, because our biological water (or blood) is a sacred link to the Divine in all of us.

Water as Teacher

Water can teach us many things:
The most important lesson is that Nature will not tolerate gross inequalities: Water’s role is to bring down to size, to level, to stimulate fertility and productivity of the whole, not individuals in isolation.
Through water, quantum coherent organisms invariably become entangled with one another. A quantum world is a world of universal mutual entanglement, the prerequisite for universal love and ethics. Because we are all entangled, and each being is implicit in every other, the best way to benefit oneself is to benefit the other.9
It is the restlessness of water that gives living systems the ability to become ever more complex and to strive towards the perfection they can never reach. As a driver of evolution, water is a model for our own striving, allowing us to evolve through our own mistakes. This is the self-empowerment process of holistic biology.
Water raises its dynamic energy through turbulence and chaos which, in the bigger picture, mirrors the turbulence of change in human society.
The dynamic way that water creates energy shows up our technology’s way of generating energy as wasteful, dangerous, and harmful to the environment.
You might call these “Natural or Spiritual Laws” as opposed to the anthropocentric laws that we construct.
If we could personally experience and truly understand the miraculous properties of water for life, our lives would become more meaningful and, (if it is not too late) we could become responsible custodians of Nature.

Nick Redfern-Underground Bases

Underground Bases: Nick Redfern Uncovers Top Secret Places Governments Don’t Want You To Know About

Roswell Hangar, Copyright Nick Redfern

Best-selling author, lecturer, and journalist Nick Redfern is world-famous for ripping the lid off unsolved mysteries and conspiracy theories.
His latest book, Keep Out! Top Secret Places Governments Don’t Want You to Know About, is a study of worldwide secret government and military installations such as the United States’ Area 51, Hangar 18, the Dulce, New Mexico underground base, and the HAARP facility in Alaska; Royal Air Force Rudloe Manor in England; China’s secret Sanya installation; Australia’s Pine Gap; Russia’s very own Area 51; and even claims that there is a secret base on the far side of the Moon.
The book details groundbreaking testimony and official documentation that reveals the involvement of the above installations (and many more) in such areas as UFO investigations, the War on Terror, the 2012 controversy, biological warfare and exotic virus research, secret aircraft, alien autopsies, controlling and manipulating the weather, and fringe research into teleportation and invisibility.
Nick Redfern writes about a wide range of unsolved mysteries, including Bigfoot, UFOs, the Loch Ness Monster, alien encounters, the worlds of the supernatural and the paranormal, and government conspiracies and cover-ups.
He is a regular contributor to New Dawn magazine, and his previous books include Contactees; Memoirs of a Monster Hunter; Final Events; On the Trail of the Saucer Spies; Three Men Seeking Monsters; A Covert Agenda; The FBI Files; Cosmic Crashes; Celebrity Secrets; Body Snatchers in the Desert; Monsters of Texas; Science Fiction Secrets; There’s something in the Woods; Strange Secrets, NASA Conspiracies and The Real Men in Black.

New Dawn magazine recently spoke to Nick about his latest book…
NEW DAWN (ND): What is Keep Out! about and what prompted you to write the book?
NICK REDFERN (NR)Keep Out! is a study of secret and off-limits installations with, chiefly, links to such issues as UFOs (crashed and otherwise), alien autopsies, exotic viruses, weather modification, as well as research into such fringe areas as teleportation, invisibility, and even time-travel.
ND: What is the truth about Area 51? Is it really home to crashed and recovered UFOs?
NR: Area 51 is actually just one of a number of areas on the US Air Force’s vast Nevada Test and Training Range (see satellite photo above). By 1955, a huge, 5,000-foot-long runway was constructed at the base, from where tests-flights and landings of the U-2 spy-plane were conducted. By the 1960s, the SR71 Blackbird aircraft became a staple ingredient of the research at Area 51. Then, in the late-1970s and throughout the 1980s, base-personnel were deeply engaged in perfecting Stealth technology.
In early 1989, a man named Bob Lazar claimed that, as a physicist, in late-1988 he was recruited into a Top Secret program at a section of Area 51 called S-4. It was an R&D effort that focused on nothing less than the analysis of nine spacecraft from other worlds. They operated on fantastically-advanced technological principles, and Lazar had seen the Holy Grail-like evidence for himself, he claimed. Despite warnings and less-than-veiled threats from Area 51 personnel never, ever to reveal what was afoot at the mysterious base, here was Lazar doing precisely that: spilling the beans to the world. To this day, Lazar has just about as many believers as he does detractors.
ND: Australia has one of the most secretive of all classified installations – Pine Gap. What goes on there?
NR: Pine Gap – officially titled the Joint Defense Facility Pine Gap – is situated in central Australia, around 11-miles from the town of Alice Springs. Pine Gap is, ostensibly, described in careful terms by the Australian Government as a satellite-tracking station.
The origins of the facility can be traced back to 1966, the year in which the governments of Australia and the United States of America secretly signed what has become known as the Pine Gap Treaty. In simple terms, it allowed for the establishment, on Australian soil, of a highly-classified eavesdropping-themed facility that, for the most part would be manned by personnel from the US National Security Agency and CIA – and, of course, Australian personnel. Today, vast radomes – protective enclosures for radar-antenna – dominate the base, giving it a near-other-world appearance, and its number of employees is now rumoured to be close to one-thousand.
ND: Can you tell us about secret government activity deep within the depths of the London Underground rail-tunnels?
NR: England’s famous London Underground railway-system serves Greater London and parts of the surrounding counties of Essex, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. It’s also the world’s oldest underground network of its type: services began on 10 January 1863 on the Metropolitan Railway. And while the overall Underground itself is not, of course, a secret location, it certainly has had more than its fair share of classified, off-limits sections during the course of its long and, literally, winding existence. Nor is it exactly a stranger to matters of official, government secrecy either.
According to some, however, the London Underground is home to much more than just tracks, trains and countless commuters: deep within, and far below, this sub-surface maze of dark and old tunnels, distinctly strange and terrible things are said to exist, including primitive “ape-man”-type creatures, so-called exotic “big cats,” a wide range of ghosts and spectres, and even a secret storage area for a crashed UFO.
ND: What have you found out about the alleged underground alien base at Dulce, New Mexico?
NR: Longstanding rumours suggest that an underground alien base exists within, and below, a massive mesa at Dulce, Rio Arriba County, New Mexico. Interestingly, we can prove there has been a wealth of weird activity in the area. For example, the FBI has officially declassified a large file on cattle-mutilations in the area. And, on 10 December 1967, the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) detonated a 29-kiloton-yield nuclear device 4,240 feet below ground-level, in an attempt to provoke the release and, as a direct consequence, production of natural gas. Thus was born Gasbuggy: a program of an overall project known as Operation Plowshare, which, ostensibly, was designed to explore the peaceful uses of atomic-energy. Notably, the location of the Gasbuggy test – that covered an area of 640 acres – was New Mexico’s Carson National Forest, which just happens to be situated only twelve-miles from the town of Dulce. Today, people are forbidden from digging underground in that very area – which is very interesting in view of the underground base allegations.
ND: What is the link between the United States’ Fort Detrick, the post-9/11 Anthrax attacks, and the ‘War on Terror’?
NR: Only one-week after 9/11, anonymously-mailed envelopes containing anthrax-spores arrived at the offices of a variety of major media outlets, including the New York Post, CBS News and ABC News. The results were catastrophic: at least twenty-two people were infected, of whom five tragically lost their lives. It was a fraught situation that led the FBI to launch one of the biggest manhunts in its long and winding history.
Documentation that has surfaced via the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act shows that, by the early months of 2005, the FBI had a suspect firmly in mind. It was a man named Dr. Bruce Edwards Ivins, a microbiologist who had worked for the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) at Fort Detrick, Maryland for no less than eighteen-years.
By 2007, Ivins became the subject of periodic-but-regular secret surveillance by the FBI. And it did not take the FBI long to build-up what was perceived by the Bureau as a very strong case against the man: in June 2008, Ivins was informed that prosecution for the anthrax attacks, as well as for the subsequent injuries and deaths, was almost certainly going to be forthcoming very soon. Ivins did not wait around to learn what the FBI had in store for him: on 27 July 2008 he died, as a result of a significant overdose of acetaminophen, a pain-reliever – a “suicide” that many in the field of conspiracy research view with great skepticism.
ND: Are government installations really secretly researching technology to change and modify the weather, and utilise the weather as a weapon of war, such as inducing earthquakes and hurricanes?
NR: On 28 April 1997, the then-US Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen, delivered the keynote speech at the University of Georgia-based Conference on Terrorism, Weapons of Mass Destruction, and US Strategy, and intriguingly warned the audience that there were powerful, shadowy forces out there who were “engaging in an eco-type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of Electro-Magnetic waves. So there are plenty of ingenious minds out there that are at work finding ways in which they can wreak terror upon other nations. It’s real.” So, yes, such research is undoubtedly being undertaken.
ND: Will you explain the links between official secrecy and off-limits areas within the Vatican?
NR: During the Second World War, the Nazis established what was, essentially, a puppet outfit in then-Croatia, called the Ustashi that was as relentless as it was ruthless in stealing gold and items of great value from the populace – to the extent that around $80 million was secured for Nazi military-programs.
Eventually a big problem surfaced: the Ustashi was reliant upon Germany for financial support, as well as for security and military aid. With the collapse of the Nazi regime in 1945, however, the now-alone Ustashi began to spiral downwards into splintered factions. Seeing the end as being near, its high-ranking officials hot-footed it to Italy, and ultimately got a warm welcome from Rome’s San Girolamo pontifical college. It almost certainly got significant monetary funding via the Ustashi, possibly even with Vatican assent and knowledge.
On 21 October 1946, one Harold Glasser, the Director of Monetary Research at the US Treasury Building in Washington, D.C., received a Top Secret communication from a certain Emerson Bigelow, who was himself an agent of the Treasury. Bigelow wrote that, from a reputable Italian informant, he learned that of the significant funds secured to fuel the Ustashi movement, no less than approximately 200 million Swiss Francs found their way to the Vatican and were held deep within its vaults for safe-keeping.
ND: Britain’s Porton Down is at the forefront of research into biological and chemical warfare, and exotic viruses. What is the link between the base and crashed UFOs and alien autopsies?
NR: On the night of 23 January 1974, a still-unresolved event occurred on the large Berwyn Mountains range in North Wales, United Kingdom that, for some within the UFO research community, has come to be known as the definitive British Roswell.
Researcher Andy Roberts stated of this mysterious affair, which would easily be worthy of the expert attention of Holmes and Watson: “The claim was that a UFO piloted by extraterrestrials crashed, or was shot down, on the mountain known as Cader Berwyn and that the alien crew, some still alive, were whisked off to a secret military installation in the south of England for study.”
That secret military installation was said to be none other than Porton Down, which is situated in the English county of Wiltshire, and from where official research is undertaken into exotic viruses, biological warfare, and chemical warfare. Of course, this sounds like a conspiracy theorists’ wildest dream come to life. But, despite vociferous attacks from the more skeptically-minded researchers in the UFO research community, it has steadfastly remained an integral part of the story ever since it first surfaced – publicly, at least – in 1996.
ND: What is the story of the Russian Area 51? Is it real?
NR: Better known as the Russian Area 51, Zhitkur is a highly secret installation built below a seemingly innocuous, small town in the region of Volgogradskaya Oblast. Stories emanating from former employees of the base tell of top secret studies of crashed UFOs – or, as we should perhaps term them, Russian Roswell’s. Darker accounts reveal the Russians are hard at work to try and develop deadly, terrifying, super-viruses at Zhitkur that will have the ability to lethally target specific races of people, while leaving others completely free of deadly infection. If true, this is, without doubt, a matter of major concern.
ND: Will you reveal the story of the alleged secret base on the far side of the Moon?
NR: As far back as the late-1950s, the US Army had a secret plan to build an outpost on the Moon: an impressively-sized, permanently-manned base that would demonstrate decisive military superiority over the former Soviet Union.
Even though the Army’s operation – code-named Project Horizon – was reportedly cancelled due to a lack of (a) adequate technology and (b) sufficient funding to achieve such a task nearly half-a-century ago, there are those who believe the project may not have been aborted at all, but secretly continued in distinct stealth. The result: the military may have a super-secret space program, about which NASA knows very little, or possibly even nothing at all. Is such a scenario just too incredible to be true? Just maybe it isn’t.
ND: How does the 2012 controversy tie-in with secret, government installations?
NR: For a number of years, dark rumours have circulated to the effect that government agencies are secretly working to build or revamp huge, underground realms to house senior, elite elements of the establishment who are aware that a worldwide, planetary upheaval will cause massive devastation on 21 December 2012, as gloomily predicted, many assert, centuries ago by the Mayans.
Some say Russia is pulling out all the stops to complete the construction of a multitude of underground survival facilities before 2012 hits us. One such base is buried deep within the Kosvinsky Mountains in the Urals. Rudimentary construction at the site was confirmed in the late-1970s by National Reconnaissance Office-controlled spy-satellites.
Today, matters have progressed significantly, and data recently collected by further US satellites suggests additional expansion in the last few years has been intense. The Kosvinsky site is now protected by around 1,000-feet of granite, and is a self-contained hub capable of comfortably housing in excess of 50,000 individuals.
ND: Can you explain what you uncovered about the so-called Montauk project?
NR: One of the truly strangest, many have said wholly outrageous, allegations that has been made within conspiracy-themed research circles, is that at a relatively-innocuous-looking location on Long Island, New York – originally called Camp Hero, and later renamed the Montauk Air Force Station – highly-classified research has, for decades, been undertaken into a dizzying array of far-out issues, including time-travel, teleportation, invisibility, mind-control, and much more.
Although many people scoff at such claims, I uncovered official files on many of these very issues, including Air Force programs to investigate if teleportation was feasible, and attempts to make aircraft invisible – literally.
ND: In your book, you talk about a number of secret installations on Puerto Rico linked with the Chupacabra and UFOs. Can you tell us more?
NR: On one of my several expeditions to Puerto Rico, a number of residents suggested it would be a very good idea for me to focus my attention upon the links between the Chupacabra and a former US Naval base called Roosevelt Roads, located in the town of Ceiba, but which is today the José Aponte de la Torre Airport.
As far back as 1944, when the base was inaugurated, it was rightly perceived as being a place of prime, strategic importance. By 1957, Roosevelt Roads had been officially designated as a Naval-Station. To demonstrate its importance from a military perspective, the US Naval Forces Southern Command had its base of operations at Roosevelt Roads.
According to the stories, which were coming from all across Puerto Rico, a number of captured, and very vicious, Chupacabra had supposedly been briefly held within a secure, secret facility at Roosevelt Roads at some point in the early-1990s, before being secretly shipped to the States. And that, to varying degrees, was the story told to me by numerous individuals on the island, which only makes it even more intriguing.
ND: What is your view on the theory that there are huge caverns and caves deep below the surface of the Earth, in which highly advanced beings exist?
NR: I don’t actually write this possibility off. A former US Air Force Intelligence operative named Walter Bosley made a highly valuable contribution to this matter. Bosley’s father served in the US Air Force in the late-1950s, on matters relative to the US space-program. Significantly, during the period of his employment with the military, Bosley Sr. received at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio – perhaps within the cosmic confines of the secret Hangar 18 – a classified briefing relative to the reported UFO crash at Roswell, New Mexico in the summer of 1947.
Bosley said that by the time of his father’s briefing, the US Air Force had come to a startling conclusion: neither the strange aerial device nor the bodies found in the desert outside of Roswell at the time in question had alien origins. Very significantly, Bosley revealed, his father told him the entities and their craft come from inside our planet. Their civilisation supposedly resides within a huge, underground system of caverns and tunnels beneath the southwest portion of the United States.
ND: Do you believe that governments are intent on building more and more secret installations to prevent the public and the media from knowing what they are doing?
NR: Yes. In April 2011, extensive digging began at the White House – in the vicinity of the famous West-Wing. Ostensibly, the media was informed, the work was strictly renovation-based, and focused upon repairing and upgrading sewer-systems, water-pipes and electrical-systems. Such proclamations, however, were viewed somewhat skeptically by certain elements of the Washington press-corps. Although the East-Wing of the White House sits atop a hardened bunker designed to survive a nuclear-attack on the nation’s capital – it’s called the Presidential Emergency Operations Centre – the idea that the new work on the West-Wing was somehow linked to PEOC, and that elaborate tunnelling was being undertaken to expand, strengthen and deepen the facility, was openly scoffed at by White House officials and spokespersons. Some journalists suggested the White House scoffed just a little bit too much.
ND: You discuss in the book suspicious deaths of scientists in the field of microbiology who had links to secret sites? What did you find out about this?
NR: From the latter part of 2001 to the present day, literally dozens of individuals working within the elite field of microbiology – the study of bacteria and viruses, some of a lethal nature – in various countries around the world, have died under circumstances viewed as being extremely suspicious in nature. Here are just a handful of many such examples:
On 23 November 2001, Dr. Vladimir Pasechnik, a former microbiologist for Bioreparat – a bio-weapons production facility that existed in Russia prior to the collapse of the Soviet Union – was found dead near his home in the county of Wiltshire, England; the county that just happens to be home to Porton Down, too. Pasechnik’s defection to Britain in 1989 revealed to Western intelligence services, for the very first time, the sheer extent and scale of the former-Soviet Union’s secret research into the field of biological-warfare, including anthrax.
Then, on 18 July 2003, David Kelly, a British biological-weaponry expert, fatally slashed his own wrists while out walking in woods near his home – or, at least, that was the official version of events, and the one much preferred by the British Government. In 1984, Kelly had been appointed as Head of Microbiology at Porton Down. In the autumn of 1989, he was called in to assist MI6 in debriefing none other than the aforementioned Vladimir Pasechnik.
On 3 July 2004, Dr. Paul Norman, of Salisbury, Wiltshire, England, was killed when the Cessna 206 aircraft he was piloting crashed in the English county of Devonshire. Dr. Norman just happened to be the Chief Scientist for Chemical and Biological Defense at Porton Down. Such deaths are still being reported into 2012.
ND: What do you hope that the publication of the book will achieve?
NR: I hope it will help to demonstrate that there are, all around the world, an absolute mass of top secret and off-limits installations where some pretty disturbing stuff is alleged to be going on.
